Mared has been reporting on European politics and affairs from Brussels for over seven years.

She is passionate about making EU affairs relatable and relevant to a broader audience, and focuses on the human dimension of political decision-making in her reporting.

Mared covers a broad range of issues from foreign policy to migration to economics, and has also reported on many elections from across Europe’s capitals. She has interviewed prime ministers, European Commissioners and other senior politicians.

Born and raised in North Wales, Mared speaks native-level Welsh, English and Spanish, and intermediate French.
